Fenix HP16R

Ambassador Cody F.

I am very satisfied with the run time of the Fenix HP16R and the different brightness levels. A spotlight with max lumens of 1300, a run time of four hours and, floodlight with max lumens of 400, a run time of eight hours. The HP16R exceeded my expectations, with the additional red light and the comfort when using for a long period of time. The HP16R was so comfortable that I almost forgot it was on my head because it was well balanced with the light in the front equalizing with the batteries in the back. The light rarely bounced or sagged since it did not protrude out like other headlamps, so I was able to aggressively turn my head, walk, and jog without worrying it was going to fall off.
Being able to recharge the HP16R with a USB type C is a feature that I find very valuable in Fenix flashlights. You won’t need a separate charger; you don’t need to remove the battery from the HP16R, taking away all opportunities for losing the battery. But the HP16R design went a step further and made it possible to replace the included lithium-ion battery with four AA batteries, just in case you’re in a pinch or are unable to recharge the batteries for some reason. Overall the HP16R is a comfortable, bright, and a convenient headlight.
