The E30R is a great light for both tradesmen and outdoors enthusiasts. It throws an amazingly bright beam from a compact package. (Just under 4″ total length!) This light hasn’t left my side for months now. It weighs so little and is so useful I can’t stand being without it.
For those who already own other Fenix lights, the E30R uses the same 18650 batteries you know and love. It has the same magnetic USB charging as another of my favorites, the E18R. The pocket clip is well built, keeping it safely in place no matter the activity. It is light enough that I’ve used it many times on a baseball hat brim. Solid aluminium body so neither rust nor a drop on the ground will stop it from working.
The light functions include a lockout feature, 5 brightness settings and a strobe. The levels of brightness are very useful. You could be using it in camp to read a book, and then quickly investigate a strange noise over 600 feet away. It is also fully submersible ensuring you have light through the worst weather conditions.

I like to think of this light as the big brother to the E18R. I carry both together daily. Functionality is very similar, charging is the same, etc. But where the E18R tops out at 500 lumens, the E30R goes up to 1600. They compliment each other nicely. I’d encourage anyone who has either light to purchase it’s other half.

The take away is that the E30R is a great light in the compact size category. It has a ton of features making it very useful on a daily basis. It will be a quick favorite to any owner, from the once a year camper to the 60+ hr a week technician. For anyone thinking of buying one, don’t hesitate. It will be money well spent. Fenix lights are less of a purchase and more of an investment.
