E03R Keychain

Law Enforcement Ambassador John G.

I missed out on the first batch of these so when I saw that one could again preorder them I placed an order for one of these and a CL26 Lantern.

The speed at which items arrive to me is always really fast considering I’m in Ohio. These were no different and traveled over the holidays!

This comes packaged in a card and does not include a charging cable. I like having the option on buying a cable or not because I have plenty of them and don’t need more for now, not that $3 would kill me. It makes it just a bit cheaper though and I don’t end up with another cable tossed into my box of stuff.

It was the middle of the afternoon and I plugged it in to charge it up. It was done in less than an hour. I was surprised to see that such an inexpensive light would have the battery charge or level indicator on it! I like that feature on my lights.

Once it was charged I took it to a dark hallway and bathroom in my house and messed with it. It lit up my entire laundry room on high and even on low it put out more than ample light than would be needed to keep one from fumbling with a key on a car or a home. Later that night and for the past couple of nights I have used it outside and out back with my dogs. You will see some really good pics below that give you a really good idea of just how much power this little light has!

The size and weight of this item are even more impressive once you have used it in the dark. It’s probably half of what an average keyfob is in size and even less than that in weight. It is tiny and weighs almost nothing. If you clip this to your keychain you won’t even know it’s there, even if you have a keyfob for a car on it.

Using the light is simple. I took mine outside in the pitch dark with it off and found the button easily and was easily able to cycle through the levels and even into “red”. I took my photos from my usual spot out back on my deck directing the light towards my pond. I couldn’t believe how much light this cast out there! I also turned around and aimed it at my back door and turned and aimed it towards the back of my garage. I shot the red beam photo from the same spot.

Great little light. Great to stick on your keychain or someone else’s. I will likely give it to one of my daughters. The only thing I think Fenix could improve upon with this would be to include a larger ring. I had an extra, larger one in my junk pile and used it instead. Just my personal preference.

I know it’s early but these would make nice stocking stuffers. Now that I’m thinking about it I am probably going to put it on MY keys!
