Fire/Rescue Ambassador, Trey K., Reviews CL25R Rechargeable Lantern

I received Fenix CL25R camping lantern as a gift. When I opened it up; it was incredibly smaller than I expected. That concern was put to rest in about 45 seconds, once I turned it on. This thing goes in my bag anytime I go anywhere. That was until I lost it for 2 months. After several tantrums and stomping episodes I conceded to the fact that it was gone forever. Then as fate would have it, I pulled up to camp at the deer lease after being gone for two months and there it was, right where I left it. Tied to a piece of string hanging from a tree where I had used it as my light source when the power was out at camp. We had a couple storms come through that tore up parts of camp and deer blinds. I walked over and tried to turn it on – no luck. I cleaned off the sand and mud and put it on the charger to see if it would charge. After charging for a few hours, it came on and worked just like new. I really couldn’t believe it. That was last summer and I’m still using it today.

As if that wasn’t enough abuse; on Memorial Day I started cooking a little late so the CL25R it became my BBQ Pit light. I stuck it to the pit using the built-in magnet on the bottom of the lantern. After 30 minutes of cooking, I finally turned it off and took it inside. It got so hot that I could smell the plastic! While I won’t do that again, I most certainly am impressed by this little light.

I can be incredibly hard on things and this light just won’t give up. When it finally lays down on me, there will be another one on the way the very same day!
